Noël, while being generally a pretty tolerant chap, does get annoyed at times when people pronounce his name wrong. It’s Noël, as in NO-EL. Not Noel, which would rhyme with soul. “The diaeresis is there for a reason”, he would say, but it turns out people don’t really honour diacritical remarks in English anymore. What a shame.

Noël is garishly festive. If you thought bright gold stars on dark green adorning one side was loud, wait till you see the holly leaves on bright red on the other! A perfect complement to any Christmas jumper.
